On the surface it would seem like quantum mechanics and
bikers would not have that much, if anything, in common. I mean quantum mechanics is the study of the
small, the really small, I mean really really really small. Bikers, typically, are not so small. So how the heck could there be any
relationship?
Lets start with a little refresher of the Heisenberg
Uncertainty Principle. The Heisenberg
Uncertainty Principle as I mentioned before, is a principle found in the field
of quantum mechanics. It asserts that
there is a fundamental limit to the precision to which the physical properties
of particles can be measured at the same time.
In other words, the closer you know the position of a particle, the less you know the direction
it is headed.
I think a good example of a bikers utopia would be riding down the highway
in search of adventure. Agreed?
Just like that little particle in the quantum world, you may know that bikers location as he speeds down the road, but even he couldn't tell you what direction he is headed next.
